We will protect the confidentiality of your information
At Plaza Bank, we respect the privacy of our customers, and are
committed to treating customer information responsibly. Our relationship
with you is built upon a foundation of trust and confidentiality. It is
important for you to know that we do not share or sell customer lists or
information with companies outside Plaza Bank.
NOTE: This notice is directed to Plaza Bank customers who are
individuals. While not directly applicable to businesses, we also
respect the privacy of our business customers and we apply the same
measures in protecting all customer information.
We will collect only the information necessary to serve you
We will collect, retain, and use information about you only where we can
reasonably believe it will help administer your business or give you
better service, more convenience and better benefits. We believe your
privacy should not be compromised, but at the same time, we want to
offer you the array of financial products and services you need to
accomplish your financial goals.
We collect and use various types of information to service your
accounts, save you time and money and better understand your needs. This
information may be collected from a variety of sources, such as the
following:
- Information you provide us on applications or forms, such as
your assets, income and other debt;
- Information we receive from an outside company, such as a credit
bureau, providing your credit history or employment verification.
We will restrict the disclosure of your information
As part of our effort to provide customers with comprehensive and
effective service, we use customer information to determine whether
customers might want to know about certain financial products and
services. Regardless of the customer relationship and in order to
protect customer privacy, we carefully control the way in which any
information about our customers is shared. We do not disclose
information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as
outlined in this policy or as permitted or required by law. Our policies
for protecting customer information apply equally to current and former
customers.
We will carefully establish relationships with business partners
We choose very carefully the companies that provide support services for
us (imprinting checks, for example, or preparing account statements) and
the financial service providers with whom we have joint marketing
agreements. We do not share information with outside companies for the
purpose of marketing non-financial products and services.
We may disclose all of the information we collect, as described within
our Privacy Commitment, with the following types of outside companies:
Financial service providers such as insurance companies or security
broker-dealers that offer products under joint programs with us, and
typically offer financial services that are different from those we
provide. We share the information needed to provide those products and
services that you request and to provide a good customer experience.
Non-financial companies that perform services on our behalf, such as
check printers, companies that prepare account statements, or companies
that help us market our own products to you.
Independent contractors, such as technical systems consultants who
program our software to help us administer our products or market our
own products to you.
All of these companies acting on our behalf are contractually obligated
to keep the information that we provide to them confidential, and use
the information only to provide the products and services weve asked
them to perform.
We will follow all applicable laws governing the disclosure of
customer information
We disclose information otherwise as permitted or required by a variety
of federal and state laws, such as in response to a subpoena. Except as
described within our Privacy Commitment, we do not reveal customer
information to parties outside of Plaza Bank unless the customer
expressly authorizes or requests it.
Please note that third parties may have access to information related to
Plaza Bank customers that has been obtained independently of Plaza Bank
(through credit rating agencies or public records such as deeds of
trust, for example). This information becomes public and may be accessed
by vendors for marketing purposes. We cannot prevent access to public
archives.
We will limit employee access to your information
We restrict access to personal information about you to those employees
who need to know that information to provide products and services to
you. Our employees are bound by a Code of Conduct requiring confidential
treatment of customer information and are subject to disciplinary action
if they fail to follow this code.
We will protect your information using established security
safeguards
We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply
with federal standards to guard your personal information. We also ask
you to closely review your account and loan statements and contact us
right away if you believe that someone has improperly accessed financial
information about you.
We will commit ourselves to customer privacy on our website
Plaza Bank is equally committed to protecting the privacy of customer
information on the Internet. For information on the Internet security
measures Plaza Bank applies, refer to the Online Banking Security
statement.
